Anita Roach is a multidisciplinary artist, author and culture transformation architect whose work explores the intersection of human experience, identity, and psychological safety. Drawing from her background in psychology and systems-based work, she creates pieces that examine how lived experience shapes both individuals and the environments they inhabit.
Figures are often faceless, shifting focus from who they are to what they carry, creating space for ambiguity and challenging the impulse to categorize or resolve - asking instead for the viewer to encounter themselves in the piece.
Surface plays a critical role: layers of acrylic and oil, texture, collage and remnants from the past, text and mark-making throughout act as fragments of memory and the scars we all bear, while the backgrounds reflect how external forces imprint on the body - creating tension between inner and outer experience.
Her work has been juried into and exhibited in galleries throughout the country including Colorado, California and Virginia.
